About

Hello and thank you for dropping by!
My name is Shari Fitzgerald and I am a hobbyist creative writer and Registered Social Worker from Newfoundland, Canada. I hold Bachelor of Science (Hons.), Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Applied Social Psychology, and Master of Social Work degrees from Memorial University and am currently working as a credentialed Program Evaluator certified by the Canadian Evaluation Society.
Creative writing has been part of my life since a very early age. I started out writing poetry and short stories as a child which evolved to research papers, grant proposals, and scholarly manuscripts throughout adulthood.
In addition to being a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation, I am fortunate to be a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association as well as a member and Writer-for-Hire with WritersNL.
My professional research and writing contributions appear in various academic and scholarly journals including Canadian Family Physician; Focus on Health Professional Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal; Intersectionalities: A Global Journal of Social Work Analysis, Research, Polity, and Practice; Journal of Interprofessional Care; Journal of Public Child Welfare. I also regularly contribute written works to the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Worker’s (NLCSW) local newsletter, Connecting Voices.
While much of my writing experience has been in the fields of research, evaluation, and social policy, I have passion for all facets of creative writing and have recently self-published the first edition of my poetry anthology, The Axis of Unseen Company.
Please take a moment to explore my website and the writing support services I provide. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
